Three Legged Bill

By Jim Wigley

That is my uncle J. D. Folsom and his dog "Bill" later known as "Three Legged Bill" He was a damn good Fox Hound. Never was a tree dog. After he got his leg cut off they used him as a strike dog. They always turned him loose by himself and after he got a track going they cut the pack. This night he run a short track and started treeing, They waited about 30 min. for him to leave the tree and he stayed. They went to the tree and shot these coons. My Uncle laughed and laughed took this picture next morning. There was a big problem, after that every time they cut him he would go tree a coon. In his later years I know several Blueticks and B&T's were bred to him and had pups that made good coon dogs.
