Vintage Hound Hunting Pictures

Back before tracking collars, shock collars, and expensive lights. Back before $30,000 winning payouts or hunting for a new truck. Back before custom built dog boxes or specialized dog foods. Back when it was done for pleasure and to put food on the table. Back when hunters didn't have all the fancy equipment and gadgets we have today. It was in a time that hunting was simple. Fetch the dogs, the light, and the gun and off to the woods for a nights hunt. No need to worry if your belt light was charged or if your tracking collar was turned on. Their dogs were not fed any special dog food that is available today. They didn't break their dogs off deer using shock collars. Some used their hounds to hunt deers. They didn't need a tracking collar. There dogs always made it back home. Sometimes before they made it back home. These pictures illustrate hunting in yesteryear.
